I just started playing on this server, didn't know it was against the rules to take from chests which are unclaimed, the place looked fairly abandoned so I took the items and went on with my day (mind you these items are worthless to me since i'm just beginning my adventure), and so I was banned. I hunted down the servers discord and found the rules, I read them and now I know, I hope this is enough to let me continue playing with my friend ;_; didn't realize there was another discord server other then the main GTNH which made it hard to find info, ty for your time.
