How long have you played Modded Minecraft?: Since 1.8 Beta, Ran servers (on my pc) since 1.2.5, Ran a VPS based server since 2014.
In what ways have you already helped the server?: Porting the polychat forge mod to bukkit.
In what ways do you plan to help the server after you become a staff member and how will holding your requested rank help you do that?: Helping with further programming tasks and server hosting and mod pack management
Why do you want to become a moderator/admin?: To help expand and improve the server and also because I enjoy the server management side of things, Theres a reason I've messed with my own VPS's for over 5 years.
Why do you play on Modded Minecraft Club rather than other servers?: been here a while, Community is nice and servers are stable
In what ways would you improve the server if you owned it?: Not have this question on the staff applications because it's impossible to answer, Maybe have polychat intergration on the website and use some sort of web RCON system for commands, maybe with quick buttons for common tasks. Could also have some grafana graphs for system usage and Server tps and player counts and uptime, and have some notifications hooked up to that if the TPS drops too low for a sustained period of time.
Have you ever been a staff member before (on a different server)?: Yes, Staff on my uni's esports discord. More info at the bottom.
If so, are you still a staff member? If not, why not? Please be detailed: I still am, I went from Rainbow 6 lead to Treasurer, Rainbow 6 lead and Rocket League Lead.

Why should we choose you over other applicants or maintaining our present size?: I can help with current server hosting and maybe pickup a modpack or 2 to maintain and I can program more stuff like the polychat bukkit port and setup grafana graphs a bit.

What advice can you give to deal with people who have trouble acting maturely?: Just to turn it down a notch and not to try to impress everyone or be funny all the time.
What would you do as a moderator or admin if a new player joins and spams the chat with suggestions to make the server better?: To stop spamming, put all their suggestions into a list with arguments for and against and then post it on the discord or the forums (if theres a suggestions page, which there should be)
What would you do as a moderator or admin if a player was griefed but they did not claim their build?: "Unfortunately because you didn't claim your land we aren't able to refund anything, please make sure your builds are claimed so this doesn't happen again."
Would you respond differently if they claimed their build? If so, how?: I'd tell them that we will work out what happened and get them their items back then escalate it to someone who would be able to work out why the protection failed.
What would you do if a player joins the server for the first time and suddenly brags in chat about having many more items than they should have at that point in the game?: Use the admin tools (if they exist) to check if they actually have those items, if they don't just ignore them or maybe hint that they are lying. If they do have them try to check how they got them or escalate that they have probably stolen from someone.

Provide any additional information you would like to include: I'm the treasurer of my uni esports society which has 70 paying members and 630 members in the discord, I also handle the hosting for our MC server and various other game servers like a CSGO server and my own website and grafana graphs, I've also wrote a bot for my uni and a bot for a unreleased game I play, both of which are on my GitHub. I'm much better at scripting languages like golang and python compared to Java honesty but that might just be me prefering smaller code bases.
