Public Comment Period on New Servers

Hello MMCC-er-ians!

After the (somewhat rocky — let me know if the proxy didn't fix this) launch of a new dedicated server with an i9-9900k, 64GBs of ram, and capacity for up to 16 servers (although this would be a tight squeeze), we'd like to launch some new servers over the next few days!

Our current provisional plan is to launch these 3 packs:

MC.Eternal, because it's popular and fills the role of a good realatively easy and casual pack
FTB Ultimate, by popular request
Celestial Journey, up and coming pack to allow us to be one of the earlier servers for what may become a popular pack

Ideally, these servers will all come up in a day or two, but we'd like to give some time for anyone who has useful information to share it and discuss this plan before we go forward with it, to give time to make changes should it make sense. If you have any feedback, please reply to this thread.

My vote goes towards All The Mods 5 as another option. But, I'd also play MC Eternal.

1.15 is also more optimized than 1.12, so overall the TPS would probably be better than with MC Eternal since MC Eternal is another Kitchen Sink like ATM3:R

Magiculture 2 - Great Casual pack with a Magic and Farming theme. Love what they did with Ore distribution and coin economy and quests with Villagers.

gengrimm How popular is this pack (with sources please)? We don't want to launch a pack and then have only 1 person wanting to play on it. It's happened before, but it isn't ideal.

I Agree with skiptrace, a pack with a newer base version of Minecraft sounds fun. All the mods 5 is 1.15 based.

Otherwise I'll probably checkout MC.Eternal

Definitely going to say MC Eternal. I really like the quest progression style of pack, but the ones we have are a bit too hardcore for the time I can realistically dedicate to playing. MCE looks like a nice balance of tangible progression without being harshly gated.

Winter MCE is a lot like that, but All the Mods 5 is also similar to that, but without quests, and it's on a more optimized version of Minecraft, which is 1.15.2

Yeah, I’ve played the original ATM and ATM3. I don’t mind the totally open packs, they can be fun too. Most of my play on the current batch of packs has been on FTB Revelation. I’ve really taken to the actual quest book progression though, after playing Infinity, Omnifactory, and a little GTNH. It’s nice having some direction through the huge list of mods instead of having to find out what my options are and go through them myself. I like progressing, but I spend more time doing creative stuff in survival mode than powering through mods to endgame machines and whatnot. So something that’s progressive but not super hardcore like GTNH sounds like the perfect balance. I’m not too hung up on optimization or having the newest vanilla content. I actually still like 1.7 the most since the Jade Cliffs biome exists in the 1.7 biomes o plenty (and it’s my fav - I spent like 3 hours hunting for one on GTNH last week).

I didn’t know 1.15 had a lot of mod options yet
